Not every frame of a video deserves to be its first impression. Sometimes the auto-selected thumbnail is perfect. Other times… it’s giving “mid-blink DMV photo.” Thankfully, OnlyFans lets you choose exactly what fans see before they hit unlock.
Whether you’re sending media in a message or attaching it to a feed post, the process is the same.
Start by creating a new post or opening the message where you want to attach your media. Click the media icon to open your Vault, then browse to the folder containing your content. Select the photo or video you want to use and click Add.

Once your media appears in the message or post composer, look for the small pencil icon on the thumbnail. Click it to open the Choose Cover Picture window.

From here, you have two options.
If one of the automatically generated covers looks good, simply click the image you’d like to use, then hit Save. Easy.
Not seeing a thumbnail that does your content justice? Click the camera icon in the bottom-left corner. From there, you can either upload a new image from your device or take a photo if you’re on a mobile device. Once you’ve selected your custom cover, click Save, and that’s the image fans will see as your preview.

A good cover should tease what’s inside without giving away the whole show. Think movie poster, not final scene. Leave a little curiosity on the table, because sometimes the thumbnail is doing just as much selling as the caption.
