How to Set a Preview Image on Fansly

Preview images for your videos and photos are the first thing customers see before they decide to follow, subscribe, or spend their money. Luckily, Fansly has a handy feature where you can pick a preview image from your vault, your device, or use their basic (but free!) editor to create a cover by cloning the image.

It’s one of the few unique features Fansly actually nailed—and it’s super useful. Let’s break it down.

Preview Images for Photos

To upload your content, click the photo icon at the bottom of the screen and pull it from your Fansly vault or your device.

Once that’s done, a pop-up will appear with a bunch of options. Ignore the extras and focus on the box with your image—click the plus sign next to ‘Add Free Preview.’

You’ll get a pop-up asking you if want to “upload new” (if you already have a pre-made trailer for your video or some cute image to promo your photoset on your computer), “from vault” (the same, but that trailer or cute image is already in your vault), or “clone.” Hit “clone.”

A big editor screen will pop up, and that’s where you can tweak your photo.

Text

Want to add text to your cover photo? Click the ‘T’ icon, and a text box will pop up. Type whatever you want, then drag the edges to resize it—bigger, smaller, whatever fits.”

Blur

There are two blur options to choose from. The first lets you blur specific parts of the image, like the NSFW bits. Click the first drop icon, and a blurred box will appear. Use your cursor to resize it—make it as big or small as you need, or even blur the whole image if you want.

You can also adjust how intense the blur is, from slightly fuzzy to completely hidden. Just click the circle next to the percentage you want, and it’ll update instantly.

Blur 2

Click the second drop icon for the full-page blur option. This one automatically blurs the entire image, and just like the first option, you can adjust the intensity to your liking.

Pixelate

Click the third drop icon if you’d rather pixelate your image instead of blurring it. You can adjust the size of the pixelated area to make it as big or small as you need.

Add Emojis

Emojis are a fun way to censor your preview image or just add a little flair. Click the smiley face icon to pull up a giant emoji keyboard. Pick the emoji you want, and it’ll show up on your image. Move it around, resize it with your cursor, and add as many as you like—it’s all up to you.

Preview Images for Videos

For videos, you can pick a preview image from your device or vault. Unlike photos, you can’t clone a video, so if you don’t have a trailer for your video, make sure you have a screenshot or still from the video ready. Once you choose an image, the same editing options pop up—you can blur, pixelate, add text, or toss in some emojis.

And that’s it—you’re all set to create preview images. Bonus: preview images and videos on your feed get you on the FYP (For You Page), putting your content in front of more potential fans.
