How to Unread a Message on LoyalFans

You’re almost guaranteed to find yourself in a situation where you don’t want a fan to know you’ve seen their message on LoyalFans—maybe you’re not ready to respond yet or don’t have the time to do your response justice. Whatever the case, we’ve got you covered with simple steps to put a message as unread.

Leaving a message on unread helps you to remember to come back to that fan but, more importantly, doesn’t leave the fan hanging, worrying about when you’re going to get back to them and if they said something wrong.

How Does a Fan Know if You Read Their Message?

The same way you know if a fan has read your message: the two checkmarks at the bottom of the message turn blue. Meaning that once you mark a message as unread, those checkmarks will turn black again.

Go to Your Messages

You’re probably already familiar with checking your messages, but just to jog your memory: just click on the envelope icon up in the header, and then hit ‘View All.’

Once you’re there, you’ll see all your messages listed. Unread ones will be in bold with a red dot on the right side, so they’ll be easy to spot.

When you click on a message, it’ll switch to regular font and lose that bold look and red dot. When a message looks like this, it’s on read.

To mark a message as unread, hover over it if you’re on your computer or hold down if you’re on your phone. Whatever you’re using, you’ll see three little dots pop up.

Click on those dots and a dropdown menu will appear. Select ‘Mark as Unread’ and, bam, the message is now on unread!

You can confirm the message is on unread because it’ll be bold and the red dot will be back. Pretty simple.

To put a message on read without actually opening it, follow the same steps as above, but click ‘Mark as Read.’

There you go! It’s a simple way to help manage your inbox and keep your fans happy. Make sure you use it!
