Locking messages is one of the best ways to boost your earnings on your LoyalFans account. You can put a price on any media or text; if you do it right, it can increase your earnings. You can lock both individual messages and mass messages. Wondering how to do it? Let’s begin!
What Does It Mean to “Lock” Something?
“Locking” means putting a price on a picture, video, or text in a message. You set the price, and the fan has to pay that amount to unlock the content.
How Do You Lock a Message?
Whether you are locking a text, video, or photo, the process is the same. (Though when you lock a video, they’ll give you an option to generate a cover–more on in another post.)
To lock an individual message, go to the text box and add a picture or video, or write your text like you normally would. After you’ve written your text or added your content, look for the lock icon underneath the text box.
When you find the lock icon, click on it, and a popup box will appear where you can set the message price.
You can’t set a price lower than $1. (If you try, you’ll get a red message letting you know you need to fix it.)
Once you set the price, click ‘save,’ and your message will be locked with that price.
If everything looks good, send the message as usual. You’ll see what you sent with the price above it.
If your fan unlocks it, the lock icon will change to an unlocked locked icon and turn green. You’ll also get a notification saying the content was unlocked.
How Do You Lock a Mass Message?
To lock a mass message, go to your messages page and click the icon with the three little green people, just like you do when sending a free mass message.
From there, it’s the same process as locking an individual message. If you want to send the locked message only to subscribers or a specific group of fans, select the group from the dropdown menu.
Hit send, and the message will go to everyone you choose.
